New Vision for Lititz Industrial

Lititz, celebrated for its beckoning, pedestrian-friendly, tree-lined downtown, isn’t taking success for granted.

Borough leaders think even more can be done to make the small town, population 9,200, an appealing place to live, shop and play. They are weighing measures with the potential to expand the reach of its charming central business district and also to entice developers to build homes for a wide range of incomes.

 

The plan aligns with the county planning commission’s push to provide for more affordable housing countywide and to save farmland by redeveloping underused spaces in the county’s 18 boroughs and other built places.

 

A hearing on the amendments to the zoning ordinance is planned for 7 tonight [August 29, 2017] at borough hall, 7 S. Broad St.

Belmont Shoppes to open in March 2018!

Call it a sign of progress. Developers of Belmont, a $105 million mixed-use project at Route 30 and Fruitville Pike, last week erected a large sign bearing the project’s name in a pond on the site’s northwest corner.

The 10-foot-tall plastic letters, standing on a 42-foot-wide steel base, contain LED lights and later will be complemented by a fountain. The developers declined to disclose the sign’s cost.

U.S. Commercial Realty’s Dan Berger and Dan Berger Jr. assist PDQ Industries in finding space for its continuing growth!

Needing space for its continuing growth, PDQ Industries has started constructing a $8.5 million plant in Lime Spring Square off Rohrerstown Road.

The new facility will consolidate three PDQ locations into one while giving the door-hardware company enough room for its workforce to rise from 70 now to a projected 100 over the next 18 months.

“The future looks good. We just have to work hard,” said Bill Tell, PDQ co-founder, owner and chief executive officer.

Target and Nordstrom Rack open this week at Shoppes at Belmont!

Target, the largest store at the Shoppes at Belmont, will open Wednesday, the day before Nordstrom Rack opens its store in the new shopping center at Fruitville Pike and Route 30.

The sub shop Jersey Mike’s will also open Wednesday while P.F. Chang’s will open Monday, March 19, and Ulta Beauty will open Friday, March 23.

Zoes Kitchen, Yealy Eyecare, Starbucks and Rack Room shoes will also open yet this month while Finch Jewelers and Norman’s Hallmark are both slated to open in April.
