Consulting firm CoLab Inc. has moved into a new office in Manheim Township, Lancaster County.

Established in 2014, the certified B corporation provides sustainability planning, strategic planning, development coaching and similar consulting services.

It had been based in The Candy Factory, a coworking space in downtown Lancaster. But the company has grown to a staff of five and needed more space to keep growing, said coLab CEO Kate Gallagher.

“Moving to our own headquarters, we were looking for something similar to what we had at The Candy Factory,” said Gallagher, noting that the staff works together in a large open space. “We workshop all of our work. We only have one private office we use when we’re with clients.”

Located at 533 Janet Ave., coLab’s new space is 1,000 square feet, includes a loft and shares an open-concept community feel that’s similar to The Candy Factory, she said. Neighboring tenants in the building include Weber Advertising, Bisram Yoga and Tiny Town, a children’s amusement center.

“We loved the idea of a shared and repurposed space,”said Gallagher.

The Mainheim Township firm is one of more than 2,300 B Corps throughout the world. In addition to coLab, Lancaster County B corps include Two Dudes Painting Co.Work Wisdom and The Lancaster Stroopies Co.

As a B corp, companies like coLab have made social and environmental responsibility an official tenets of their business plans.

To celebrate its new space, coLab is holding an open house on Nov. 14 from 4 to 7 p.m.
